Marvel Treasury Edition
Marvel Treasury Editions were oversized (generally 10x13-1/2") comic books published by Marvel starting in the summer of 1974. Like DC's Limited Collector Editions, these were tabloid-sized books, generally 100 pages and featuring reprints of existing material.
The first Treasury Edition, for example, was Spectacular Spider-Man: it featured reprints from the Amazing Spider-Man title (such as #14, the first appearance of the Green Goblin), as well as a few other small stories and fillers.
Issues were naturally devoted to Marvel's more important characters of the time, at least in terms of then-current sales: so, there are Defenders and Howard the Duck treasuries, but sadly no Daredevil or Iron Man.
The odd Treasury title would contain material reprinted from British Marvel comics (such as the Savage Fists of Kung-Fu Treasury) or even original material (such as Captain America's Bicentennial Battles from June of 1976).
