1954 Topps Baseball Cards

The 1954 Topps baseball set is considered one of the best-loved baseball card sets ever produced.

The set consists of 250 cards cards, each measuring 2-5/8"x3-3/4". The card fronts depict two player photos (the first baseball card series to do so), one closeup portrait and one action shot. Player name, team, position, team logo, and faux signature are reproduced against a solid-color background. Card backs feature recent stats, a paragraph about the player's career, card number, and a small 'Inside Baseball' cartoon.

This set includes manager and coach cards along with popular players.

Cards #1-50 are known to exist in a gray-back variation, wherein the back of the card appears to have been printed on darker gray cardboard. These command a small premium over regular issued cards.

Popular players in this set include Ted Williams, Jackie Robinson, Yogi Berra, Ernie Banks (rookie), Hank Aaron (rookie), Tommy Lasorda (rookie), and Al Kaline (rookie).
