1957 Topps Baseball Cards

1957 Topps baseball The 1957 Topps baseball card set was the first by that company to use the now-common, more modern card size of 2-1/2"x3-1/2". The set included 407 cards.

This set used actual color photographs rather than black-and-white, or tinted photographs as previous baseball sets had.

This was also the first Topps set to sport complete statistics for each player, rather than just the previous season's.

The 'high-number' cards in this set are not necessarily uncommon or more expensive, but rather cards #265-352, possibly due to shortprinting.

There are four unnumbered checklists for this set; they are not included in the set total, and (since they are hard to find and thus quite expensive) their price does not contribute to the regular set total.

Important players in this set include Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Don Drysdale (rookie), Hank Aaron, Whitey Herzog (rookie), Frank Robinson (rookie), Mickey Mantle, Bob Clemente, Rocky Colavito (rookie), and Brooks Robinson (rookie).
