1965 Topps Baseball Cards
The 1965 Topps baseball card set was the largest up to that time, with 598 cards.
Card fronts featured a color player photograph in a thin colored border, with the team name in a pennant-shaped block and player name and position at the bottom. Card backs again featured career statistics and (if there was room) a small cartoon and 'headline' about the player's career along the top.
Specialty cards for this set include World Series highlights, statistical leaders, and team rookie cards.
Some cards in the higher numbers (above #522) seem to have been short-printed, leading to their being harder to find.
Prominent players in this set include Joe Morgan (rookie), Hank Aaron, Pete Rose, Willie Mays, Sandy Koufax, Mickey Mantle, Carl Yastrzemski, and Harmon Killebrew.
