Colorforms Outer Space Men

The Outer Space Men, aka Colorforms Aliens, were a series of 'bendy' (rubbery-bodied) action figures (similar to Mattel's Major Matt Mason) produced by the Colorform Company in the late 1960's. As bendy action figures, each 3.5" to 7" figure incorporated bendable wires encased in semi-hard rubber. Each figure included some type of weapon; some also included a helmet or other accessory.

Colorforms Alien Each fictional figure represented a different alien race from various planets in the Solar system, including:

- Alpha 7, the Man from Mars
- Astro-Nautilus, the Man from Neptune
- Commander Comet, the Man from Venus
- Colossus Rex, the Man from Jupiter
- Electron+, the Man from Pluto
- Orbitron, the Man from Uranus
- Xodiac, the Man from Saturn

Also Produced were related items, such as the Space Warriors Colorforms playset, which was similar in design to other Colorforms sets (for which the company is known). There were also puzzles, such as the Space Warriors Alpha 7 Puzzle, the Space Warriors Electron+ Puzzle, the Space Warriors Orbitron Puzzle, and the Space Warriors Colossus Rex Puzzle.

There was also a proposed second series that never made it to market, although a few examples (both carded and loose) still exist. Figures in the proposed 2nd series include: Cyclops, the Giant from Beyond the Milky Way; Gamma, X the Man from the 4th Dimension; Gemini, the Man from Twin Star Algol; Inferno, the Flame Man of Mercury; Metamorpho, the Man from Alpha Centauri; Mystron, the Man from Hollow Earth. The 2nd series figures are depicted on some of the Space Warriors puzzles listed above, oddly enough.

The figures were also licensed to Bullmark of Japan, who produced some hollow vinyl figures for the asian markets. Some small knock-off figures exist, both as wired-armature, rubber bendy figures and hard plastic figures (included in playsets).
