Yoshiya Jupiter Robot
The Jupiter Robot from Yoshiya/K.O. was released during the 1960's. There was also a Venus Robot from the same manufacturer, continuing with the planetary-exploration theme. This is considered one of the classic, most desirable plastic robot toys. Superficially, it resembles Robby the Robot from the movie Forbidden Planet; Yoshiya also produced other Robby-like robot toys.
The Jupiter Robot comes in two main variations: the battery-operated, with wire-remote controller, was blue, while the windup version came in red. There are also a couple of much more rarely-seen colors, such as silver or blue with red limbs; but these are in the hands of only a few well-heeled collectors, apparently.
This robot toy walks; its face lights up and, where applicable, the gears in its chestplate spin. (The other version of the Jupiter Robot only has a decal on its chest, with no spinning gears.)
Although a somewhat common plastic robot toy, the box for the Jupiter is much more difficult to locate.
