Marvel Superheroes Trading Cards by Donruss

In 1966 Donruss released this set of trading cards devoted to Marvel's line of superheroes. There were 66 cards total in the set.

The card fronts depicted (apparently redrawn) artwork taken from Marvel comics of the time, reproduced in full color but somewhat simplified. The superheroes depicted included Captain America, Daredevil, the Hulk, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Thor (curiously, no Fantastic Four); there were 11 cards devoted to each character.

Most cards from the set featured a 'funny' caption added to the image; 14 cards instead had bank word balloons, allowing kids to add their own humorous or dramatic captions.

Card fronts each had a block at the bottom with the words 'Collect all 66 cards', the copyright, card number, character, and the card range which featured that character. On the back of each card was a color puzzle piece.
